Hij studeerde in 1991 af aan de Faculteit der Geneeskunde van de Ege University. In 1996 werd hij specialist in algemene chirurgie. In 2007 ontving hij het kwalificatiecertificaat (Board) van de Turkish Surgery Association. In 2007 ontving hij de titel van “Associate Professor of General Surgery”. In 2013 werd hij hoogleraar.
