Lens Implantation Surgeries

Lens Implantation Surgeries

An unnoticeable, transparent - natural lens is placed just behind the colored part of the eye. This lens is very transparent so that we see the pupil in the color of black. This lens reflects the lights which is received by the eye on a layer of nerves and it must be definitely transparent so that the light can reach nerves. When there are defects on this lens, it causes sight problems and should be replaced by artificial lenses.

Frequently Asked Questions

Ekol Eye Clinic uses most up to date methods and state of art technology equipments for the examinations and operations. You can get rid of your glasses with Eye Laser surgery. A full eye tomography is performed and evaluated by our surgeon in order to decide if your eye is suitable for the operation.

Various tests should be performed in order to decide which lens is suitable for your eye. There are monofocal, bifocal and trifocal lenses for different types of visual defects. You need to decide this with your surgeon together.

Local (topical anesthesia) will be used with drops. The operation takes 20 minutes each eye and you won’t be hospitalized. You can go home when you feel allright.

• Lenses can be easily replaced. This means that at some point you can switch to a multi or trifocal lens if you have problems with presbyopia. ICL lenses are not suitable for people with age-related vision problems. • ICL lenses can also be used on young people. • Painless and not noticeable after the procedure

This lens is made from a material called Collamer, a collagen co-polymer that contains a small amount of purified collagen. It is stable and bio-compatible and it has been used for many years in the lenses implanted during eye surgery. The lens is small, foldable, soft, flexible and moist. Since the lens does not affect cornea nerve fibers, therefore it does not cause dry eye.

Yes. If the patients do not experience dry eyes, colored contact lenses can be worn regularly 1 month after ICL surgery.

The operation can be performed in each eye or both eyes at the same time. However, personal consultant with ophthalmologists is highly needed prior to operation.
