Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sibel Ayık
She was born in 1973 in Isparta and completed her medical training between years 1990 – 1996 in İzmir Ege University Faculty of Medicine and started working in Ege University Faculty of Medicine – Clinic of Pulmonary Diseases and Tuberclosis as an assistant.
She completed her thesis in 2002 with the subject “Reasons of Chronic Cough and Eosinophilic Bronchitis.” And assigned as Pulmonary Diseases Specialist at İzmir Eşrefpaşa Tuberculosis Control Dispensary. She worked on “Direct Observing Treatment Strategies for Tuberclosis” with the Project of World Health Organisation.
In year 2012 she founded the Department of Pulmonary Diseases in İzmir Katip Çelebi University as a founding chairman and as an assistant professor doctor. Same year she was an clinical observant in “Cleveland Clinic Pulmonary Department.”
She haid her title of Assoc. Prof. in 2013 and got the BOARD success certificate after passing the Turkish Pulmonary Diseases Credential Examination.
She had studies for pulmonary diseases & sleep disorders and attended to many international & national congresses and meeting as trainee between the years 2012 – 2016 while she was still working in İzmir Katip Çelebi University Atatürk Research Hospital.
She is an active member of; ERS (European Respirator Society), ESRS ( European Sleep Research Society), TTD ( Turkish Society of Thorax), TUSAD ( Turkish Society of Respiratory Researchs), Turkish Medical Society of Sleep and Turkish Society of Sleep.
Her areas of interest are: Asthma, COPD, pneumonia, pulmonery embolism, lung cancer, interstitial lung diseases, pleura diseases, tuberclosis, sleep disorders, cigaratte addiction treatments, diagnostic bronchoscopy, breathing tests and intradermal aspiratory allergy tests.
